Our Why — Odd Lots

WHY ODD LOTS EXISTS

Turn business excess into community support.

Odd Lots started with a simple observation: businesses routinely end up with useful products they can’t efficiently use or sell, while families and small businesses are being squeezed by the cost of living. We built Odd Lots to connect those two problems.

Access to excess. Value for all.

We capture surplus, overstock, closeouts and stranded inventory and redirect it into affordable goods, local opportunity and practical community value. Sometimes that means a ridiculous deal in the market. Sometimes it means a donation, a volunteer project, supplies for a small business, a community event or a new way for neighbors to help one another.

The discount store is not why we exist. It is one part of the infrastructure. The bigger question for us isn’t how many stores we can build. It’s how much useful surplus this community network can capture and put back to work.

People helping people.

We believe affordability should come with dignity, sustainability should be practical, and community should be something people can participate in — not something done to them. We’re building a local system where surplus meets service: shopping, volunteering, events, resources, jobs, local exchange and new tools that keep more value in the community.

Together, we build community.
